Isaiah 11:1–2 speaks of a rod coming forth out of the stem of Jesse, and the Spirit of the LORD resting upon him. Wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the LORD are all named in this promise. This song invites us to pause and remember the righteous King God promised, and the Spirit that rests upon Him.
